The first two are plein air studies, the first done in Alaska around 2007...off Douglas Island at Juneau, Alaska...the other near home here in NE Wisconsin, off Alderton Rd...four miles north of Laona...both are 5"x 7" oils on pumice panel. Pumice is mixed with gesso primer, adds some absorbing grit qualities I like, lightly sanded that receive paint well.
The next two are small wildlife studies, 5"x 4" Redhead drake, alert pose swimming, and looking down onto a black bear and Pike River in northern Wisconsin...painting in higher key... 5"x 7" oil on birch...
